DAVID GILMOUR - ECHOES - (Gdańsk, Poland), 2006 , HQ, (TRT: 25:39)

via smyletube...with a shout out to EH and AP...
Tuneage: "ECHOES" - This song is 23 minutes long and takes up the entire second side of the album Meddle, the sixth studio album by English progressive rock group Pink Floyd, released 30 October 1971 on Harvest Records. . The song evolved out of Pink Floyd's live shows. According to Shiloh Noone's Seekers Guide To The Rhythm Of Yesteryear, Pink Floyd introduced a new piece of music at the Crystal Palace Garden party entitled "Return of the Sun of Nothing," said by the band to be a joke about comic books and Godzilla-type movie sequels, which developed into "Echoes" about 6 months later. The song was a homage to the minimalist composer Terry Riley.
In an interview with Rolling Stone Roger Waters said he was attempting to describe "The potential that human beings have for recognizing each other's humanity and responding to it, with empathy rather than antipathy."

Gdańsk: The final show of his "On a Island" tour in August 26, 2006, where he played to an audience of 50,000 at the Gdańsk Shipyard to celebrate Poland's 1980 revolution. It's also the final Pink Floyd-related recording to feature the late Richard Wright, who passed away on September 15, 2008, one week before the concert's official release. • Awesome post. I love Echoes. Meddle might be my favorite PF album... Fearless is definitely my most favorite PF song of all time though, that's for sure.
