Excavator climb,no skills required.
Part of channel(s): Yoursay (promoted), Liveleakers (promoted)

So I watch a clip on LL about an excavator climbing over a hole and people were commenting on how the driver had epic skills and it was amazing, also comments about the safety side of things.
I comment on these kind of clips and get told to STFU what would you know and you couldn't do that.
When I say we'll I do it about ten times a day they say no you don't and you have never even been near one.
So when I say I do I really mean that I do,as for the safety side of things lack of confidence in your machinery is one of the biggest mistakes made, also I have seen people freeze because they think they're going to fall over or crash out and it is left up to me to sort out a predicament that they have left the machine in.
So here is my proof to all the ones that don't believe me.
I also said the second pile was 80 feet but was probably between 60 and 70.

  • Don't let the children here get you down. Too many are insanely quick to discredit anything simply because it's said online. I've stated that I work in the oil and gas industry on oil and gas related posts and same thing, "STFU, no you don't, blah blah blah."....really? Why would I make up something as mundane as working in O&G gathering/processing?...hysterical to me.

    • @Cloudy_Audi_N_Maui_Wowie I also work in O&G, mostly facilities construction though. Although the reaction I always get is you must be rolling in dough... if I was I wouldn't be working in it anymore.
      Work safe brother.

    • @Carlo5picyW Haha don't we wish that was the case. I do in-house landman work but people think when I say O&G, that I'm some hick on a rig staring down a bore hole all day lol.

  • That driver has epic skills, it's amazing!

You sir are a modest man. The fact that you can do it does not make it "no big thing". Knowing what your machine is capable of, and being confident and experienced enough to do it daily, is by definition skill!

I for one can't even get the plastic balls in the bucket on the JCB mini-diggers at Legoland Windsor.

    • @Legend07_1973
Looks like a nice machine. We have this small 3 tonne zero tailswing volvo. The skill with it is to not turn it over while moving on hills because on a hill the weight of the arm is enough to turn it over making it quite dangerous imo. It maybe small but you would be surprised how effective it is to do work.

    • @Robocock komatsu, zero tail swing has less ballast weight.

    • @ukexpat Its ok man, me neither, and I TRIED. I even snuck back during dinner. My wife thought I was gambling and lost money because I was all pissed off when I came back. Of course it was kinda hard to do when you have to pee.

I've registered an account today to post this comment afterlurking for years.

Thanks for posting these clips. My Dad drove excavators his entire working life - I remember him crapping himself when some regulations came in regards operating the machinery (I was only young - can't remember what it was) and whether he'd be good enough having only learnt on the job. He passed without breaking a sweat. He was good.

The careers advisor at school asked me my father's occupatio More..

    • @ANDY_67 nice comment buddy, your dad was probably a good old school operator.
I started on the floor picking waste and self taught myself on the machines.i know what you are talking about when you say the new regulations which would have been when the CITB license came out.
I had to do it too but I was only about 21 then.
I probably take what I do for granted as I do it every day but it isn't like it used to be,no work, drivers getting laid off the industry is stale.
Luckily for me I work for More..

Used to work for an equipment dealer. Was always impressed by the skills of the operators and how valuable their time was.

  • Great vid, but don't sell yourself short. People that are good at things make it look easy. That goes for any occupation, from a heavy equipment operator, to a free style skier, to the server in a Timmies drive-through.

You made it look easy, so wind that hoe around and pat yourself on the back, 'cause you're good at what you do.

    Voted.

  • For any skills video you see on LL (excavators, air refuelling, gymnasts, science videos... whatever) there will always be somebody else who does it as well and will (or just could but don't) say "Not that cool. I do that whenever blah blah".

All i've got to say is: Impressive, just the other video.

    Good job.

    • @absolutdani the blah blah blah was about the comments people made to me saying I was a liar.
I am sure anybody who drives an excavator can do what I do.
People have commented in real life who do the same job as me and said 'I don't know how you get it in the places that you do'
I get what you're saying though.
Other people can do things I think 'wow' and it is a daily occurrence for them.
      Good comment

Keep sharing mate! And again, good job.
