Haiti Earthquake : Haitians Struggle To Recover In The Aftermath Of Massive Earthquake

Raw : A clearer picture of the massive devastation to the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince began to emerge on Friday, three days after a massive earthquake hit the impoverished island nation. Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption, an iconic building in the capital destructed in the earthquake, was an indicator of the large-scale devastation in the city. Haitians now strive to resume their lives and one of the first tasks is to bury the dead which randomly scattered around the rubbles.

  • Struggle, its only been a few days. Countries tying to assist these people yet they use the dead as roadblocks to protest the "SLOW" aid. What is wrong with these people. Wouldn't this be a good time to come together and work together instead of against the efforts to assist? This happens in every 3rd world country, you try and help them and they try and kill you for helping them.

I guess they don't realize that their port is destroyed, most of the roads are destroyed and their infra More..

  • The problem is that aid workers will soon find themselves targets of the machete gangs looking for any food and water to sell.
What's needed is well armed UN troops and law and order needs to be established, which it was not before the quake. Its one thing sending aid, but it needs to be distributed under strict armed international martial law, otherwise it will become a trading commodity and the death toll will be severely upsized as many will starve as the string survive.
    Law and order first, More..

  • Notice how slow the excavator operator was moving? I feel for him because with every scoop of the bucket you could be crushing someones skull or chopping them in half.Even though they are dead it's still tough.

  • Obamais going to allow those Haitians in the US illegally to REMAIN in the US......
they will then petition ( as legal citizens) to have their relatives brought over and live off the welfare dime.......
Move em to New Orleans, make em day laborers....
that'll irritate the the African americans into demanding the same rights given to the
    "Haitian-African-Americans"

  • You want help clear your own bodies. Another waste of resources and time on a country that deserves neither.

    • immagine if Bush was still president how this would be played out.
Luckily, he isn't and Barack can use this disaster to take the minds off the US problems.

  • I gave $10.00 to the Salvation Army earmarked for Haiti. Just think if everyone donated. Haiti could be the jewel of the Atlantic.

    • Just nuke the whole shitpile, shanties, voodoo beasts and all and be done with it. In 20 years we can build vacation condos for American and European humans to enjoy.

  • I have donated to help these people. They didn't ask for this and now is a good time for some giving from our hearts. It contrasts with having your money taken FORCEFULLY and given to some group or other.

No need for this "social justice" bullshit. People know when to help those truly in need. The people of Haiti are truly in need.

Peace, Propaganda, and The Promised Land

When Israelis in the occupied territories now claim that they have to defend themselves, they are defending themselves in the sense that any military occupier has to defend itself against the population they are crushing… You can’t defend yourself when you’re militarily occupying someone else’s land. That’s not defense. Call it what you like, it’s not defense. Peace, More..
