  • We're getting some good winds from bands here in the Florida Panhandle. Waves are a good 10 feet locally.

The tracking models are all over the place, though the model they favor he most have it skimming right past you, Rick. (top one on list.)

  • Stay safe RB, no telling what will become of this storm so lets hope for a little rain and a little wind and nothing more where ever it heads.

    • @moefugger an interesting map - and well famous place names for us over here, shame about all the rain. we've had a deluge over the last few weeks too. many parts of the country are under flood alerts at the moment.

  • Rick living next the the river is indeed an adventure and a courageous one at that but then again, having such natural beauty at your doorstep has its price.

Hope it all goes by uneventful brother and stay safe.

Ever thought about setting out some critter traps? I think whatever you catch would be worth filing and sharing as well.

    V'td--awesome as usual

    • @piruly

Thanks for the good words, as usual Pi.

I have some "humane traps" that I used to use to relocate problem critters. But as of about 15 years ago I have always had at least one dog, so I don't have problems with "pests" like Opossums (sorry Salt!) like I used to. Even nutria aren't much of a problem anymore, but I shoot them since they are very destructive and aren't indigenous. Unfortunately, with the dogs, I have lost some of the animals I enjoyed like raccoo More..

  • Just another day in Paradise Rick.

You got a great piece of land, but I would probably start sand-bagging around the house.

  • it's rarely the wind that causes damage, it's the storm surge and tides that destroy a home.
    hope you endure safely.
    stay safe, cheers!
