Valley Alabama Police: Teen Ride Along Captures Head On Crash

An Alabama teen got a front row seat to a wild police chase and crash during a ride-along with authorities.

Jared Hinkle, 16, was in the front seat of the squad car recording Wednesday night when a high speed chase ended with a head-on crash. And it involved the squad car he was riding in.

"It all happened so fast," Jared said. "Last thing I remember, he was headed straight toward us and I was like, 'Oh my gosh. What's gonna happen next.'"

Jared was fine and the chase suspect was arrested. Jared is in The Boy Scout
Explorer program, where youths 14 to 21 do ride along with law enforcement to
learn about the job.

Jared's dad is a deputy with Chambers County and he wants to follow in his father's footsteps, even after his scary caught-on-video experience.

The video is now evidence in the case against 23-year-old
Kori Stanford violated a protection from abuse order when he visited his
ex-girlfriend at her job, and decided to flee from police.
