A senior advisor with a California-based think-tank has launched a scathing attack on the US-led war in Iraq, describing it as "immoral".
The former American soldier Brian Jekins, who is an advisor with the Rand Corporation says that the conflict has only served to inspire terrorist groups worldwide.
He believes that the US war on terror has violated the fundamental American values.
"It is my view that these actions were illegal, immoral and strategically stupid," Brian Jekins said.
"There is no question that it has revitalized al-Qaeda, antagonized people and caused radicalization."
Jenkins said the US is often seen as an aggressive nation with a master plan to rule the world in the Middle East
