Cop Enters Property, then Kills Couples Three Dogs

.
Loxahatchee, FL --

A Loxahatchee couple is upset with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. They say when two deputies showed up at their home Tuesday, one of them shot and killed their three dogs.

Dog owner Bryan Thomas says there was no need for the deputy to shoot. If the deputy had to subdue the dogs, he could've used pepper spray or a taser.

To make his point, Thomas made some signs and went to a busy intersection at Orange Boulevard and Seminole Pratt-Whitney Road near his house, to stage a public protest, criticizing the Palm Beach County Sheriff's office.

Thomas says, "I think they're fully responsible for my dogs' death. No excuse, they wouldn't give me an excuse and told me they don't owe me one."

Kathie Thomas, who also owns the dogs says, "To me they were part of my family. They took out three members of my family!"

The three dogs are buried in the couple's yard. A sheriff's office spokeswoman says she's sorry this happened, but the deputy did have a right to protect himself and his fellow deputy.

The spokeswoman says deputies were at the house to arrest someone who was there, working for the Thomases. She says the deputy shot the dogs in self-defense, when they charged at his partner.

  • sorry, when a cop enters a fence, whether marked or not they should assume there are guard dogs and as in this case, the dogs are the owners pets. The police are operating as a police state in which they have full reign over everyone without regard for private property. We are in a war, but most of you are oblivious to this fact.

  • I wonder the Government is stock-piling hollow points? I'm sure the same police that kill indiscriminately will never turn against us, the people. This is just another story of some dumb guy that had his dogs shot right?

  • I fear pitbulls like any rational person would but the cops are Nazi's and they go in with a redneck attitude and a gun in hand, using a gun as their one n only means of defense. They'll kill you as easy as they killed these dogs. NEVER trust a cop to do the right thing in this fucking country.

  • If they went to another persons property they obviously didn't have a warrant to search this house. They were arresting a worker for this couple. Why didn't they go to the workers house. Screw these cops.

    • @SacredVow So the person was complying and then they shot the family pets. You somehow thinks that makes it all better? By Florida State law they do have to acquire a warrant unless there is an imminent danger in progress. If this man was non violent then they did have to get a warrant to enter the property. That is the Florida law. the only way they can enter is if said person is violent offender or there is a burglary or emergency situation such as fire, etc. If they entered through compliance More..

    • @heydoin That actually makes sense, why would they not surround the property then ask the owner to secure the dogs. They wouldnt have lost the suspect and the owner wouldnt have lost his pets.

    • @heydoin Cops have the right to protect themselves. Dog's, Regular Humans do not.

  • When I was a kid the cops hopped over my back wall looking for my derelict uncle. Not sure why they didn't try the front door, but they soon met my male Pitbull and female Doberman Pinscher; who naturally barked (but did not attack). The cops did not shoot, just maced them and the dogs backed off (I guess). At the time, I was upset. Now I am grateful they didn't choose an alternative. Same department that people were recently protesting for shooting a thug (Anaheim). They don't have to always pu More..

  • Get the names of the Deputies....available from public records....go to their homes and poison their pets? Would THAT even the score? Probably not, but the PoPo might think about deadly force against animals the next time if they knew citizens would know who they were and where they lived and got a bit of payback on their dogs.
