@rocketpropelled Maxime and Tony are ex-military. They can now speak freely. They video taped their every day life in Afghanistan - and didn't post it on the Internet. A French TV channel made a documentary out of it so we can actually see the war from the inside instead of the official perspective.

On one hand you have a sophisticates army with the latest weaponry, from night vision, JDAM, to Javelin missile etc...costing more than a billion US $ & a billion € tax payers money & in the other hand you have a bunch of students (The True Meaning of Talibans) are using a IED's costing 80 US $ only or even less.

The I.E.D was the weapon that defeated the yanks,no matter how much they tried the US military was never able to come up with an effective defense against these easily available bombs,the fact that the big fertilizer IED's contained virtually no metal made them extremely hard to detect.
