Amazing Sand Animation Recounts German Occupation of Ukraine
Young, attractive, and extremely talented sand painter Kseniya Simonova (Ксения Симонова) recounts the German invasion and occupation of Ukraine in 1941 on Ukraine's Got Talent (Україна має талант). She won the 1,000,000 hryvnia prize (about $125,000 US).
There were over 1 million lives lost in the initial invasion. Germany conquered and occupied Ukraine under a ge
More..nocidal and totalitarian regime ("Reichskommissariat Ukraine") for 2 years and 4 months (September 1941 - March 1944), during which untold numbers of Ukrainian citizens lost their lives.
I guess you have to be Ukrainian to understand the audiences tearful reactions to some of the images that seem obscure. Less..

Brilliant story-tellling evokes deep human emotion. Many have been moved, myself included. A lot of people suffered mass genocide and there was NO justification for it. Had it happened to a pile of rapists and murderers, I'd be all for it! But NOT innocent people!

Why isn't she doing a sand animation about this genocide that occured in the Ukraine ? It was estimated that up to 10 million people, including children, lost their lives in that event that occured just a few years earlier than WW 2. I know the answer.
That would be the NKVD starving thier own people.
The Russians were at least if not more murderous than the Germans, and since thier regime lasted 60 years, The Russians eclipsed the German's war time atrocities by millions of murders.
Stalin & Co. were the most murderous bunch in history.
Yes, I know about Mao.

I know, not great tags.
I was out of town for a week so I probably missed the first posting.
