The crows are like young Native American men proving their courage by stalking up on a bear and slapping it's behind, taunting the potential of death. I can see these birds sitting around, cracking a beer and retelling the scene "Yeah, when you pulled that pussy-cats tail, I was sure you would be a goner!"

The birds are really Eurasian Jackdaws, members of the corvidae family, which includes these crow-like birds.
