@zakisbak Thanks, Britts. My Father's favorite aircraft still is, and always will be, the Spit.

Fly like an Eagle!
Nothing's better than a F-15C pulling up almost verticaly after take-off!
Go ANG!
USA is the true aviation country!

I've driven to pickup friends/family from PDX and seen something quite similar - the sound is what truly makes the experience.
Thanks for trying to get something for us to watch - this is a good first upload.

Poor pilots. They all flew straight into the sun! R.I.P.

Always an awesome sight...that's what the F15's were designed to do, go up like a rocket and intercept. They are 40 years old now, but still looking good.
Thanks for the post!

F-15 was the first fighter that could accelerate straight up, if I'm not mistaken.

I had stopped near the airport one time. I heard the roar of jet engines being sped up. The sound wasn't like a regular airliner engine. Within a minute 5 F-15s took off. It is always awesome to watch fighter jets take off. Within minutes they were all out of sight. I found out later the Air National Guard has a base here. Explains why so many fighter planes are seen at this airport. Is there truth to the to what I hear about the F-15. It's the only fighter plane to have never been shot down in More..

@Rhaspun That is partially true, none have ever been shot down by another aircraft, but two were lost to ground fire during the first gulf war. The Oregon NG F-15's are the alert intercept fighters for the Northwest Sector of the US, thus the aircraft at Portland are always on alert. They flew over my house last year attempting to intercept a light aircraft near Seattle. The house was rocked by two sonic booms, thankfully the windows didnt break.
