Rinku Summan - Pilot/Navigator of the fateful cargo plane crashed in Bagram, Kabul
Part of channel(s): Afghanistan (current event)

Rinku Summan was one of the two first officers on the flight. According to reports, the plane went down after the cargo load shifted on takeoff.

Rinku Summan was a pilot who was admired by his friends and colleagues throughout his entire aviation career. He met his wife, Rajnit, while training, and they both began their airline careers together at Mesa Airlines, based in ORD. After the Mesa furloughs, Rinku and Rajnit had their first child, Adarsh, and Rinku went on to work for National Air Cargo. He was part of the crew who was tragically killed on April 29th, 2013 when his Boeing 747-400 crashed just after takeoff at Bagram Air Field. Our thoughts and prayers go to Rajnit, Adarsh and his entire family as well as those who knew him. He will never be forgotten.
