Anti-racism campaigners in Amsterdam have been protesting against the imminent release of a film reportedly critical of Islam. The short feature has been made by high profile anti-immigration politician Geert Wilders.
Few details are known about its content but activists fear it will offend Muslims. One demonstrator said: "The world should know there are people in the Netherlands who respect each other."
Another protestor condemned the main political parties for taking part in the rally: "There are many who don't agree with Wilders and racism and the politicians should have joined us."
Wilders has described the Koran as a book that incites violence and called on Dutch Muslims to reject it.
The controvesy has heightened tensions in The Netherlands and invoked memories of the killing of Dutch director Theo Van Gogh. He was murdered by a Muslim extremist after making a film that criticised aspects of Islam.
