From Sheriff Joe himself;

I've been telling you for some time that there is a coordinated effort on behalf of far-left, extreme liberal groups that seek to have me removed from office.

And they want me out of office just for doing my job of enforcing illegal immigration laws. To those people, and other detractors, I simply have one thing to say:

If you don't like the laws of this country or our state, then have the lawmakers change them. Imagine the outrage if I was to pick and choose the laws to be enforced. That is what happens in totalitarian countries under dictators. In America, we live under the Rule of Law.

Most recently, a group of illegal immigrant college students marched through the streets, blocking traffic, and protested against me and my office.

According to the Arizona Republic on May 23, 2012:

Friday's march included protesters repeatedly chanting "undocumented and unafraid" and "arrest Arpaio, not the people" along the route and in front of the jail and the ICE office.

Some held signs reading "No one is illegal" and "We are not immigrants in our own continent."







So now we've reached the point in our national debate on immigration reform where illegal immigrants openly call for law enforcement officials - who are enforcing the law! - to be arrested.

This is all part of a coordinated and well-organized effort to intimidate me from doing my job. Their end game is to see me back down so they can continue to push for open borders and Amnesty. But I tell you this: I will not be intimidated and I will not back down from doing what is right.

Will you stand with me in this fight and in supporting the Rule of Law?

The good, law-abiding citizens of this country must stand up and be counted if we are going to win this battle. I'm doing my part every day to protect and defend the citizens of this country. I took an oath to both the Constitutions of the United States and Arizona and I will stand by that oath no matter what the political cost.







But I cannot do this alone. I've asked for your help before and I'm afraid this is just the real beginning of a totally chaotic effort to remove me from office.

I won't back down and I hope you won't either.
