  • WTF does BHO have to do with outsourcing to China?

Read some history. It was Richard Nixon (R) who opened the door to trade with China. (not like we weren't already selling our jobs to Japan.

Drop the partisan shit and buy/build American, or just realize that in the global economy that to equalize, the rest of the world is going to get better and the US standard of living will have to adjust downward.

    • I have been saying it before, here in my posts and outside in the real world. It comes down to the individual consumer, myself I always buy American (or at least try) and in some cases if there is no an US made made alternative I won't buy anything at all.

Yes it may cost more, but overall and generally the quality of American made goods is better. Let me give you an example, US made plastic containers, are a little more expensive than Chinesse made, but by just looking and feeling the Americ More..

    • American products on the whole are terribly made. That's if you can find any products that are actually manufactured there and not assembled on import.

      Globalization works both ways.

    • Yep, in trying to compete they went to shit. My parents had a black and decker under the counter can opener, it lasted at least 15 years, replaced it with same company, it's a pos.

  • It's what happens in business. If your lemonade stand is getting enough business you move to another corner. If you have a huge lemonade stand you move to all corners. It's been going on long before Obama came along.

The people making decisions about the future of the country don't care about the people that are living
    now they don't matter.

In this country we make decisions on the next two months, the chinese make them on the next 25 years.
For now the chinese have the upper han More..

  • Well they work for cheaper. Thats the reason businesses go abroad, to maximise profits. If you want American Jobs for American workers then nationalise the industry. Either that or the mentality of American business owners needs to go through a serious reversion to the way it was pre world war 2.

  • Oh, we're blaming Obama for outsourcing now?
Sorry guys, seems I can't quite keep track of what we're supposed to hate him for anymore. Seems like there's a new attempt to pin something new on him every day.

Yeah, most of it might be bogus, like the "Obama spends 200 million a day in India" story Fox News tried to sell to it's non-fact-checking viewers.
But it keeps people from discussing the real issues.

As they say, great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, small min More..

    • No, some local Indian TV station reported the cost would be 200 million Rupees. Fixed News translated it into 200 million Dollars, 41 warships, an entire hotel and a fuckton of more stuff they just added for the hell of it.
200 million Rupees is about 5 million Dollars, which is on par with what it tends to cost when american presidents travel abroad.
Fixed News, (and the rest of the right wing media circus) messed up. Didn't see anyone admitting they made it up though after the story was debunk More..

  • This did not happened in 2 years. This happened 30 years ago.

In the beginning, perhaps USA Inc. went to China for its cheap labor. But today, USA Inc. goes to China because the market there is huge, much bigger than USA. GM sells more cars in China than in US. USA needs China more than the reverse.

So, my question is are American willing to tighten their belt and compete or just keep crying like a pussy, waiting to be kancho'ed.

  • Don't worry about it. When we go to war with them eventually, there will be plenty of jobs. US military equipment is required, by law, to be made in the usa.

So expect plenty of jobs in American ammo factories, bomb plants, tank factories and nerve gas facilities. It's not if but when.

  • Capitalism at its finest: manufacture goods where labor is the cheapest, and sell the goods where they pay the most for them. Just like the law of gravity, this is yet another international law against which Oklahomans won't be able to do a thing: the law of supply and demand.

  • blame the cheap executives (who earn top cash without working) , who choose to take there the production of those products just because there they pay just for labor no matter how the worker lives or even if what he earns is enough to eat properly. that is what you choose, that is what the republicans that owns the companies let them do, just because it gets more money for them, in reality your life doesn't count as long as you vote.
