Police release shocking video of murder
PRICHARD, Alabama (WALA) - Prichard police are looking for 28-year-old Travis Griggs in connection with a deadly shooting that happened on Monday. They have also released shocking video of the violent crime.

In the video, you can see the victim, Andre Manassa, walking out of the Shell Gas Station on St. Stephens Road to his car. Not a minute later, a man runs from behind the building, stopping within feet of Manassa, firing shots, then running away.

Manassa is no stranger to the law, however. He was released from prison in January 2011. In November 2009, Griggs and his daughter were in a stalled car when police say Manassa shot them.

The victims were treated for their injuries and released from the hospital. Now Prichard Police said Manassa’s victim, Griggs, may have something to do with his death.

Prichard Police Chief Jimmie Gardner said they do believe this murder was retaliation. Gardner said this so-called street justice needs to stop.

“We have so many of these cowardly acts that take place where we have folks go out and commit crimes against persons and its in retaliation,” said Chief Gardner.

Officials are calling for any information on the whereabouts of Griggs.

“I extend to all of our community folks, if you have any information about Mr. Griggs to call the Prichard Police Department,” said Chief Gardner.

If you have any information, please call Prichard Police at 251-452-2211.
