True to the core value of the Mercedes-Benz brand is the all new 6th generation SL - which was featured Sunday night - follows in the footsteps of the iconic Mercedes-Benz SL first introduced in the US in 1954. SL stands for “Super Lightweight” and the the new SL weighs 300 lbs. less than the previous model thanks to it’s highly-rigid all-aluminum body shell- a first in a series-production vehicle. That translates into better fuel economy (29% better) and improved agility.
