On the 16th of April, Occupy DC's Earth Week protests began with a visit
to the American Petroleum Institute to protest their role in funding
climate science denial.
The fallacy of the denial of climate change was on clear display to
everyone, with temperatures reported as high as 88 degrees F around DC
as protesters marched.
Upon arrival at API, Occupy DC took over the plaza in front of 1220 L
street, where the API has offices on the 9th floor. As people began
tricking out of the building, it soon became clear that people from the
other 11 floor on the building were not always pleased with what API has
been doing-in one case, with a woman even pumping her fist in time to
Occupy's chants.
