Ethiopian Athlete Collapses Yards From Marathon Finish Line.
Raw : October 18, 2009 – Ethiopian athletes dominated the 31st Istanbul Eurasia Marathon in Turkey, the world’s only intercontinental marathon, winning in both the men’s and women’s categories, and capturing victories in the women races in Amsterdam
In Istanbul, Kasim Adilo defended his title when he won the men’s race with a time of 2:12:14, while his compatriot Bizunesh Urgesa finished first in women’s category, followed by another Ethiopian, Ashu Kasim.
Ethiopian women athletes captured the top two spots with Tadelech Telila (2:51.39) finishing first, followed by Etaferahu Getahun (2:54.19). In the men’s category, Gezahegn Beyene came in second (2:21.39) behind winner David Kiptum of Kenya.
