      'Crime' is a relative term but according to this guy's rant at least 35,000 'criminals' are arrested every day. Imo, ten times that number get away with it.
      But for me the important figure here is the overwhelming number of people in US prisons comparatively to the whole world.
      Either Americans are five times more prone to commit 'crimes' or the justice system is totally fucked.

  • 35,000? It doesn't seem a very big number to me.

    Presumably those arrests would be for offenses from unpaid traffic fines to murder, and everything in between.

    There are about 20,000 cities in the US of significant size. That means less than 2 arrests per city per day on average. If every arrest were in a city with population over 100,000 it would represent around one person in 1700. Seen as a proportion of the whole population, it's around one person in 8500.
