(January 25th, 2012) This came from the official website of the US Alaskan Coast Guard (Below) Raw and awesome footage showing the hoisting and rescue of stranded vessel passengers after their ship became lodged in the icy waters of Portage Bay by the United States Coast Guard.
These rescues are more dangerous than it looks, the winds during some of these rescues are gusty and it takes well trained pilots and guardsmen to pull these off and many have died in the process of these rescues in Alaska.
My respects to our US Coast Guard, they are true hero's. We need you guys and too any coast guard who is reading this, thanks from all of us at liveleak.

It's a good thing these fishermen had exposure suits otherwise the USCG would be doing a body recovery.
USCG = Pros as usual

Coast Guard is a tough job in every place and every country. In these days i'm watching Italian Coast Guard scuba team explore the depths of the Costa Concordia, enter a dark space, where there are no reference points, where the floor is the ceiling and the ceiling is the floor, completely invaded by furniture, tables and more, proceeding slowly in the icy water in the light of a torch. As a diver I can say it is a nightmare,i'm not sure i could do that.

Watching this video, I can't help but wonder why they don't engineer a better system than that awkward basket and wench. It was painful watching him fight the gear.

All men and women who are in this line of work are heroes.
These people deserve much more respect. They risk their lives every day but keep a rather low profile, probably because they aren't show offs, but exercise decency and humbleness.
