US soldier killed by IED in Afghanistan
KABUL (AFP) – A US soldier deployed in Afghanistan to fight Taliban-linked militants was killed by a remote-controlled bomb, NATO's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said Sunday.
The death happened on Saturday in western Afghanistan, which has recently seen as escalation in Taliban activity, ISAF said in a statement.
It gave no further details of the incident.
