Killed during his fourteenth deployment on Saturday, Kristoffer Domeij
served more than any other Army ranger who died in action, KOMO-TV
reports.


Domeij enlisted two months before September 11 and continued fighting
for his country, nearly nonstop, from that moment. Though Army rangers
typically complete one four-month tour, this Lacey, Wash. native served
48 months in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan.


"This was a ranger you wanted at your side when the chips were down,"
battalion commander, Lt. Col. David Hodne told the news outlet. "He is
irreplaceable - in our formation and in our hearts."
