ABOUT CHARLOTTE DENNETT:
Lots of political candidates make campaign promises. But not like Charlotte Dennett’s. Dennett, 61, the Progressive Party’s candidate for Attorney General of the northeastern state of Vermont. Charlotte Dennett has been practicing law in Vermont since 1997 and has been an investigative journalist for more than 30 years. "Vermonters deserve an Attorney General who will prosecute those who break the law," says Dennett.
"Vermonters pay a huge amount of money and a disproportionate share of soldiers' lives in this illegal war. If our elected representatives will not act to hold President Bush accountable, it is up to us to use this final remaining tool."
Charlotte is competing against current Attorney General William Sorrell, and two other candidates in the 2008 election in Vermont. Vermont is a liberal state and the only state Bush has not visited as president. A resolution calling for Congress to impeach Bush and Dick Cheney was approved in the state senate in 2007, following the passage of similar resolutions in over 40 cities and towns in Vermont.
There is little doubt that Dennett can win this election IF ENOUGH VERMONTERS FIND OUT ABOUT HER.
Vincent Bugliosi, the legendary criminal prosecutor and bestselling author of The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder, appeared in Burlington with Charlotte on Thursday, September 17 at Burlington City Hall. The two attorneys announced their intention to commence legal proceedings against George W. Bush in the event that Dennett succeeds in her bid to become the next Attorney General of Vermont.
Dennett said she read "The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder" earlier this year and was interested in pursuing Vincent Bugliosi’s notion that local prosecutors could bring criminal charges against the president. Listen to Bugliosi on the People Speak Radio here:
But Dennett said she is not a single-issue candidate, adding that she is also interested in issues surrounding the Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant in Vernon and its proposal to extend its operating license beyond 2012.
Charlotte is also a Harper Collins author, and the co-chair of the Book Division of the National Writers Union. Most recently, she published an essay, "The War on Terror and the Great Game for Oil: How the Media Missed the Con- text," in the paperback edition of "Into the Buzzsaw: Leading Journalists Expose the Myth of a Free Press," which has won the National Press Club Award for Press Criticism and received the "Best Book in Current Affairs" award by the Association of Independent Book Publishers.

You can also do more than give money. You can telephone Vermonters!
Vermont has 623,908 people and 446,642 registered voters as of October 24. Many of the rest are too young to vote. So, the odds are higher than 2 out of 3 that any adult you find this way is a registered voter. Don't worry about calling a Republican. In a poll a year ago more than 61% of likely voters in Vermont supported impeachment, and this includes Republicans. This means the odds are high that any Vermont adults you call are likely Charlotte supporters. In a recent survey in Brattleboro indicates 72% would favor Charlotte just for the prosecution of Bush. That's without even considering party affiliation or other issues. They just need to hear about her position on this one issue.
1. Go to zabasearch.com, 411.com, or whitepages.com and get phone numbers of people in Vermont. Call someone with your own name -- it's fun !
2. Say something like:
"Hello, Pat Harmon ? This is Pat Harmon. Hello !! Have you heard of Charlotte Dennett ? She's the brave Progressive Party candidate for Vermont attorney general who's going to prosecute Bush. " And you can mention her other stands and her web site (dennettforag.com), and you can do that in a message, too.
3. Use other names similar to your own and to your friends names. (This prevents people with names like Jim Smith from getting too many calls.) Call everyone you know in Vermont. You can also call people from a Vermont phonebook at the library, or call businesses.
Charlotte ---- Ms. Dennett is super, and you'd think she's super even if she weren't doing this incredible brave thing. Because besides this . . .
Ms. Dennett will protect consumers and vigorously investigate inflated prescription drug pricing, credit card rip-offs, predatory bank lending, gas price gouging, and other forms of consumer fraud.
Ms. Dennett will protect workers from discrimination, such as discrimination based on race, color, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability and HIV status, and from retaliation.
Ms. Dennett will strengthen whistleblower laws to protect both public and private sector employees against retaliation.
Ms. Dennett will protect the environment and oppose the relicensing of Vermont Yankee.
Ms. Dennett will reform sex-offender laws so that the police and prosecutors have better tools for catching sex offenders.
You can tell anyone that the instructions are posted at bushindictment.org
It would be nice to hear what you think of this and what changes you suggest. ===> firstname.lastname@example.org
