For years we've been hearing through Pakistani govt & Army sources that the people fighting in Waziristan are a few extremists in the region and can only be defeated by using force in military operations...And also that these people want to implement some extremist brand of Islam on the whole country and want to take over Pakistan.

But the real question is why did these people start fighting and how have they not been eliminated even after 6 continuous years of military operations since the first ordered by Musharraf in 2004?
