He waited in anticipation of the afternoon call for prayers at which point he planed to call it a day and head for the sook, time went quickly and soon the call for prayers sounded, it was a familiar comforting voice which called for prayers that afternoon, the voice of el-tawous came bellowing as if descended form the sky, the town’s minaret was one of the highest minarets in the whole region which created that effect, clearly recognisable though as el-tawouse’s voice echoing as if from a great distance although their farm was only a couple of kilometres from the town centre and in the mid section of the production space areas of the town which surrounded and enclosed the town from three sides with the fourth side facing the sea front, the outer town perimeter wall enclosed the whole of the town as if rapping it in a blanket. He made his way to the town centre accompanied by his nephew Zainddolf in the families pick up truck which they usually took to the sook when ever they were stocking their own store or had heavy load to take back and fourth. They stopped out side the sook gate and could see that there was larger crowds than usual in the town centre for a Thursday, it would seem that a real price war had broken out and people were turning up to see what they could take advantage of. They stooped their truck and got out and made their way through the narrow south entrance of the sook and walked through the general utensils section to reach the meats section of the sook, the cover of bodies became thicker as they approached the meat section and went through it’s gate. They entered to find massive crowds, bells ringing and lots of noise with traders calling out announcing their discounted prices and crowds converging to look in amusement and to buy. The price of whole shoulder of salted smoked dried beef had dropped by that afternoon from it’s usual town sook price for quality smoked beef of 10LY a kilio to 3LY a killio and was still being under cut by more bells ringing followed by new voices calling out under cut prices. It was turning into a frenzy of selling and buying and only a few minutes from initially arriving to join the back of the crowds, Ruddolf and his nephew Zainddolf were encased by larger crowds which had arrived behind them and it seemed as if they were now floating in a sea of bodies swept out by the tides, rocking back and forth as if floating in water, all of a sudden it seemed as if the whole town was in the sook as well as some more. Abou Anwar had instigated a coup that day for him self selling over 10,000 LY worth of stock pilled salted beef from his stores by late Thursday afternoon at the higher end of discounted prices on a late summer’s day in 0819, it was also a coup for the whole sook which also documented record sales for that day.
