  • artillery is effective only when educated in the art and when one has many of them. the idea is to destroy an area or troops within said area. these guys clearly don't get it and most likely destroyed a pile of dirt.

  • I know something of war because I have studied warfare for about 30 years. An artillery gun is a support weapon that softens up enemy positions before you assault those positions. The manner of which these men were shooting their artillery not only appeared to be aimed too low, but they were firing at a rate, where maybe their first shot might have surprised and hit enemy positions, but every shot after that hit nothing because those enemy positions were evacuated and or taking cover right after More..

    • @marius69 true that i was thinking it was way too low, true that about the better training of western, and really every modern army trains at MRSI, multiple round simultaneous impact, im not sure if the piece is too heavy, but i know US can achieve it with the 155.the footage literally reminded me of the scene of 2001 space odyssey where the monkeys use the bone as a tool, not even close to aware of that artillery piece's true potential or capabilities.

    • @marius69.... This is a field gun with a relatively flat trajectory. Basically they are firing at a building or position that they can observe directly, maybe with spotters closer.... I agree that they are softening up an enemy position prior to assault.... However I think that they are achieving the aims of their objective given the circumstances. They are recieving no counterbattery fire, so I suggest that they are at a tactical advantage and have the upper hand in that particular scenario.... More..
