Tu-154 Struggles Against In-Flight Oscillation

Chkalovsky Airport, Russia, 29 April 2011 - After 10 years spent in storage, Tu-154B2 (RA-85563) finally took off again. Shortly after takeoff, flight control system failed, leaving only thrust and altitude control at the disposal of crew. Plane started to wobble, sometimes yawing and banking at 40°. Nonetheless, crew still managed to land jet.

Chkalovsky Airport is a military airport base near Shchyolkovo, Moscow Oblast, Russia. It is located 31 km northeast of Moscow.
