Iran,
Mideast Oil and US Arms

Foreign Policy of Iran-13

-DR.
ABDUL RUFF

______

The
US maintains a naval presence in the Gulf, largely to ensure the transport of
oil remains open. The Strait of Hormuz links the Gulf - and the oil-producing
states of Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates
(UAE) - to the Indian Ocean. About 40% of the world's tanker-borne oil passes
through it. Since USA has converted the entire region into one of American puppets,
they all try to protect the interest of their masters in Washington. USA is
eager to the maintain its immoral dollarized influence in the region.

US
dirty games against Muslim nations with large energy resources are well known.
Economic pressure on the Iranian government, combined with mismanagement and
under-investment, and growing domestic demand, does appear to mean that Iran is
struggling to maintain the current level of oil export earnings. USA used the
opposition to destabilize Iran, forcing Ahmadinejad to quit.

An
innocent looking USA "suspects" that Iranians are on the verge of obtaining
the nukes and “almost” seem to be playing the whole thing down, saying that
between 1998 and 2003, Iran had a "very structured, very
well-organized" nuclear weapons program under the auspices of its ministry
of defense. But this program, according to the CIA, was abandoned, one of
the main sites literally bulldozed into the ground. Since then there have been
"tell-tale signs of nuclear weapons work" which raise "very
serious concerns". This double-speak of US terrocracy is deadly and dangerous
for the humanity.

Tehran
rightly threatened earlier this week to block the entrance to the Persian Gulf
if the West imposes sanctions targeting Iran's oil exports. Such a move by the
West would add to several rounds of sanctions already imposed on Iran over its
controversial nuclear program. More than a third of the world's oil flows
through this narrow passageway called the Strait of Hormuz. But now, the
channel is emerging as a bargaining chip in a war of threats, increasing in
intensity.

Iran's
warnings come as its naval forces continue a 10-day exercise in the strait and
nearby waters. Gulf oil producers would be ready to step in, if necessary, to
make up for any losses of Iranian crude. Two years ago, Iran's Supreme Leader
had the Revolutionary Guards protect their Strait of Hormuz and regular naval
forces are conducting the current war games.

Washington
first played down the Iranian threat because it came abruptly. Now the
dictatorial USA has responded that it would answer any blockade
forcefully. The unilateral US military says it will not tolerate any
Iranian disruptions of oil shipments in the Strait of Hormuz. The
Bahrain-based US Fifth Fleet said that the navy is “ready” to counter
malevolent actions to ensure “freedom” of navigation. The threats and counterthreats
come at a time when the Iranian navy is conducting war exercises in the strait
and inevitably coming close to US warships. Iran is former Persia and
former ally of USA using lethal American weapons to attack Iraqis, killing innocent
Muslims on both sides. . .

Anti-Islamic
US strategic nuts may be hoping that in the longer term, economic pressure
could undermine Ahmadinejad's position, or even eventually threaten the very
existence of the Islamic Republic itself. That is just an illusion, which they
will overcome in due course.

Washington
and Israel have not ruled out military action against Iran's nuclear facilities
if sanctions and diplomacy fail.

Since
Israel is fully aware of Iran’s military preparations any possibility of an
Israeli attack on Iran is remote. Israel might seize to exist
after such a war which would be devastating for the entire region.
