You would need to goto the peak district to get away from that.

That's because this video is not actual how it was seen. It's two videos put together to make one. The sky is from a space scope. I've posted links to the seperate videos before but poeple either ignore them or just want to believe in fantasy.

Why do you mean by "space scop". Can you give us some technical details of how these movies are done? I thought of something like a professional dSLR (extremely high ISO sensitivity), wide professional lens, longer exposure times (<60s), few hundreds images stacked together to make this vid. But this is my version. How about other ideas? Thanks and I envy those guys who get to see such a clear sky. I live in the most polluted city of Europe and I don't get to see stars often.

This is exactly how it happened. It is not two videos put to one.

How is the tail dying away as if in realtime when this is meant to be time lapse?

The entire smoke tail wisping away lasted for around 7-8 minutes - thus in the video it is around 3-4 seconds.

It was nice having 300 foot trees in the back yard to climb when I was a kid. Most people don't realize that it's actually a rain-forest up there, and north in to Canada. It's temperate old growth rain forest.
I went looking for a time-lapse at Crater Lake, I'm going to upload it now, I think it will knock your socks off.

Was a great show here where I live. Last two years were cloudy during the shower. If you had the opportunity to see it this year and didn't try...well, I guess you didn't get to see it.
