We need conscription in the US. Putting down the xbox controller and going to boot camp would do a lot of good.
I have a young son, a few nephews and have donated a few years of my life at boxing gyms trying to show kids and young adults how to get a good workout on.
90 percent of them are lazy as fuck. The one's in my family as well.
I have to force my son to exercise everyday, when he is done he acts like he just walked through the fucking Sahara. Same when he is forced to mow the yard. More..

Two points. Young fat bodies with hormones a-ripping can be trimmed pretty quickly; saw it happen in the Marines. Saying graduation from high school equals 'smarts' is a big overstatement; tho, it's still smarter than dropouts, on average.
