A Myrtle Beach man was arrested after a woman told police he threatened her for forgetting to bring home cheddar cheese, according to a police report.

Michael Jay Richardson, 48, of 923 Southpark Lane was charged with vandalism, assault by intimidation, breach of peace and public intoxication after police were called at 7 p.m. Wednesday to his home, police said.

A 29-year-old woman told police she was bringing in groceries and Richardson assisted her, according to the report. She said when she went to the bathroom, Richardson kicked in the door and demanded to know where the cheddar cheese was located.

The woman said she went to her vehicle and Richardson followed her there where he broke a window by punching it and broke off two door handles on the vehicle, according to the report. The woman went to a neighbor’s home to call police.
