GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - Two people are dead after two early morning shootings on Grand Rapids southwest side. The first shooting happened near the intersection of Burton and Division.



Officers found three victims on Burton, two of them were pronouncd dead at the scene. The third victim suffered a gunshot wound to the face and was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.



The suspect is described as a black man, with a medium build, wearing a white shirt with horizontal stripes and a white "fishing style" hat.



The second shooting happened a few blocks away near Buchanan and Griggs around 3:20 a.m. When officers responded to a call from a man saying he had been shot.



Responding officers located two victims with gunshot wounds to the chest. The victims were both transported to local hospitals in serious condition.



The suspect is described as an unknown male, wearing khaki shorts and a white T-shirt wrapped around his head.



The Grand Rapids Police Department Major Case Team is investigating both shootings. Anyone with further information about either incident is asked to call the Grand Rapids Police Department at 456-3604 or Silent Observer at 774-2345.
