  • Until last month the US hadn't had a US flagged vessel taken by pirates since the late 1700's. So, how do we approach piracy now? I suggest at the end of a hellfire missile or 50 cal machine gun.

The poster didn't say where this was taken, but most likely it is the Gulf of Aden, why should we afford people who speedboat up to a several thousand ton merchant ship with RPG's and AK-47's any sympathy? They are f'n pirates. It's not likely that we will start arming merchant ships, but we have More..

  • Hey Subrookie .... America has YET to have a US Flagged ship taken.

They tried ... failed miserably with a few of them now missing their brains

  • The old fashioned way was to chain them all together and toss them into the deep blue. I imagine that method still works.

  • Capture them, put a bullet in their heads and as any good environmentalist would do, recycle them by fattening up the local shark population.

  • Where do they take them for holding, processing, and eventually for trial? I hope these bastards don't become wards of ol' Uncle Sam.
