Part of channel(s): Iraq (current event)

It’s official; George W Bush is a war criminal.

In what is the first ever conviction of its kind anywhere in the world,
the former US President and seven key members of his administration were
yesterday (Fri) found guilty of war crimes.
Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and their legal advisers Alberto Gonzales,
David Addington, William Haynes, Jay Bybee and John Yoo were tried in
absentia in Malaysia. The trial held in Kuala Lumpur heard harrowing witness accounts from victims of torture who suffered at the hands of US soldiers and contractors in Iraq and
Afghanistan. They included testimony from British man Moazzam Begg, an ex-Guantanamo detainee and Iraqi woman Jameelah Abbas Hameedi who was tortured in the notorious Abu Ghraib
prison. At the end of the week-long hearing, the five-panel tribunal unanimously delivered guilty verdicts against Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and their key legal advisors who were all
convicted as war criminals for torture and cruel, inhumane and
degrading treatment.Full transcripts of the charges, witness statements and other relevant material will now be sent to the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, as
well as the United Nations and the Security Council.Read in entirety here; http://www.foreignpolicyjournal.com/2012/05/12/bush-convicted-of-war-crimes-in-absentia/

  • If Bush is a war criminal then Obama is an accomplice and should be charged the same.

It's like if Bus broke into a store, and Obama was his friend, and after Bush was done stealing what eh wanted, Obama went in and decided to do teh same too.

  • Malaysia...a regular cultural mecca.

I'm surprised they could even hold a trial considering that 90 percent of them can't even read.

    Suck it, Hadji.

  • This is a laugh. We don't answer to Malaysia. The Malaysian government or any govt can try to pull that with us. We'll pull our guns on you. Never forget the murder of Shaariibuugiin Altantuyaa. Covered up by the Malaysian government. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Shaariibuugiin_Altantuyaa

  • I'm no fan of Bush but I'm less of a fan of Malaysia. So he was convicted by a extremely conservative Muslim country, who have harboured known terrorists and whose law courts, while not entirely Sharia, are close enough. Perfectly sound conviction.

If there's a case to answer let it go to The Hague. Lets not get all excited by some fundamentalist crackpots seeking attention.

    • @cardboardcutout Your argment is only based on a bad preconception because Malaysia is a major muslim nation ??

The USA have their terrorists too, for the example of the Oklahoma fanaticals attack, they have a high number of criminals like drugdealers, mafias, white slave owners, etc .....

USA have a lot of worst thing than the ones compared to Malaysia, but because this nation is a Muslim nation they dont have credibility ??

Their quality life is probably much better than the one in the USA. Their economy is advanced and they have a great culture.

Take care to not be a racist/xenophone. This gonna eat you by inside.

      More..

    • @Anthrax BR No My conception is based because I was raised as an orphan in Kuala Lumpur and in my teens returned to southern asia (Malaysia, The Philippines, Singapore and Indonesia) doing aid work seeing it all first hand, before moving further north.

Malaysia doesn't have credibility because of the way they treat their people, their refusal to curb ethic cleansing and eternal fighting on the northern border with Thailand, their embracing of muslim extremists wanted for bombing campaigns in th More..

    • @Anthrax BR Damn. You should get a trophy for posting the most ignorant, pathetic, retarded, and backward bunch of hilariously idiotic nonsense comment ever.

If you're not clinically retarded, you should be embarrassed.

    • @cardboardcutout The Philippines? I bet that was wonderful. Fantastic friendly happy people from what I understand. And, unfortunately, they suffer on average 2 Islamic terrorist attacks every single day. Some of the stories I've read, just make me sick. Like, people running for office, and having their whole family decapitated for not being Muslim...

They were VERY nearly a US state. And, IMO, that would have been wonderful. It would be great to see the US Marines in there protecting those peo More..
