(March 2nd, 2012) Amateur footage of massive funnel clouds recorded in two locations in Southern Indiana. Reports coming in this morning are saying 8 people have been killed. Aftermath footage at the end of the vid is unreal, major destruction. News and info below.

  • ...it's much like the tsunamis in Japan...you feel terrible for those being impacted and the unfortunate loss of life - yet you can't help but be amazed by the sheer awesome power and magnitude of these weather phenomenon...thoughts go out to those impacted by these storms...

  • Just a fine reminder everyone that is not used to these type of storms if your ever in the area of a tornadic weather and hail is coming down 90% of the time there is a funnel cloud or a tornado forming somewhere near by you... I live in Springfield Illinois and we have had our share of these beasts. And every time it has stated hailing there was a funnel cloud or a possible tornado on the ground near by.....Take cover immediatly or find a solid structure to get into....

      unfortunately that's only the verified count. Search and rescue operations haven't even started in earnest yet and they're predicting at least another day of storms!

    • @dreadshivarr Crazy, me too. I've grown up with earthquakes and they don't scare me in the least. But ever since I can remember, I've had nightmares about those funnel clouds.

  • Unfortunately the official death toll is going to be much higher. I heard an entire town of 1500 was wiped out! Sad! Try to stay safe!

  • Every year hundreds die in tornado's, sometimes even in the thousands. Even with thousands of homes and businesses destroyed, you hardly ever hear of any looting. Usually the stories you hear are about people pulling together and helping each other. Sad and inspirational at this same time! Stay safe and stick together, you'll get through it!
