Shop Owner Tackles Thief, Nearly Gets Shot

An Everett business owner didn't miss a beat when he made the snap decision to chase down a thief, but he ended up staring down the barrel of a gun.

Adrian Anderson, owner of Siskun Power Equipment in Everett, was behind the counter Monday afternoon when he saw a man dash out of his store with two chainsaws in hand.

"It was just instinct," he said. "I just decided it was what I needed to do."

The entire ordeal was captured clearly on surveillance video. Anderson chased the suspect to his pickup truck and tackled him on the pavement. But the suspect was able to quickly stand up and point a gun straight at Anderson's head.

"I let him go because I wasn't going to die over that," he remembered.

The suspect was able to drive away, but his alleged accomplice was left behind and was later questioned by officers.

Everett Police later arrested a 21-year-old man who is suspected of the robbery. He is currently being held in the Snohomish County Jail on $7,500 bail.

As for Anderson, he is a little sore, but proud to protect the business he's owned for 30 years.

"I did what I had to do," Anderson said. "Let's just hope this guy doesn't come back."
