Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) -- An Afghan police officer opened fire on U.S. troops in southwestern Afghanistan on Friday, killing two service members, the NATO-led command said.
The officer killed the two in Farah province .
In other violence, an Afghan soldier also turned his weapon on coalition troops in the Zharay District of Kandahar province. There were no coalition fatalities.
The incidents are the latest in a series of "green-on-blue" attacks carried out by Afghan security forces or people clad in security uniforms.
The attacks come a day after a helicopter crash in southern Afghanistan killed At-least seven U.S. service members, three Afghan soldiers and an Afghan interpreter and a week after At-least six American soldiers were killed in a single day in a series ‘green-on-blue’ attacks, in which Afghan police or soldiers turn their guns on the foreign soldiers.
