CCTV:February 25/09,Cincinnati:Mount Healthy schools have released security camera video of a driver hitting Greener Elementary early Wednesday morning. The crash caused extensive damage to the school and forced officials to cancel classes.

Hamilton County Sheriff Deputies say someone drove their car into the school on Adams Road in Mount Healthy around 3 a.m. Wednesday. You can see the driver in the video veer off the roadway, through the yard, and into the corner of the building. The driver then backs out and tries to drive away. The impact was so hard that items inside the kitchen, including a microwave, were knocked off their shelves.

The driver abandoned the car a short distance away and has not been arrested.

Structural engineers were at the school yesterday and officials are waiting for their final report. A school spokewoman tells Local 12 the school district is building new schools and may be hesitant to spend the money for repairs on a building they will soon be closing.
