Footage has been shown to a jury of panic on a Tube train as alleged London bomber Yassin Omar ignited explosives in a rucksack. More than 300 terrified passengers burst from a London Underground train after one of the alleged July 21 bombers set off his bomb.
The jury was shown CCTV footage of Omar fighting his way through the crowds, bolting up the escalator and jumping over the ticket barriers at the station. He was also shown on CCTV from a shop, apparently running away from the scene.
Several passengers described the acrid burning smell of what they thought was a bomb, while others spotted Omar with a large hole in the back of his shirt.
Omar, 26, from New Southgate, north London, is one of six defendants who deny charges of conspiracy to murder and conspiracy to cause explosions likely to endanger life.
