The Gallup Organization reported that "In 2003, 42% of U.S. adults said they were born-again or evangelical; the 2004 percentage is 41%." Also, "Black Americans are far more likely to identify themselves as born-again or evangelical, with 63% of blacks saying they are born-again, compared with 39% of white Americans. And "Republicans are far more likely to say they are born-again (52%) than Democrats (36%) or independents (32%)."
The first born-again President of the United States was Jimmy Carter in 1976. In the 1980 campaign, all three of the major candidates stated that they had been born-again.

    • @conservative From MB-UK yes the Louis thing could be anywhere, just easier to find in the states, louis also shows us fruitcakes from all around the world including the UK, so don't feel bad about the programme, just the guy who chose to post it it out of context

    • @tugpilotsmiffy

That's exactly who I was refering to. MB-UK treat us Americans like if we were a primitive culture of some sort, that description trully shows his intentions.

  • Oh maaaaaan. I clicked because I thought there was a clip with R Lee Ermy. :(

Still entertaining. Also I'm pretty concerned here in the second clip because they're not wearing any seatbelts. Could be seatbelts might interfere with being raptured up maybe, I dunno.

    • @MB-UK Hey, I'm all for sources exposing the religious insanity that permeates portions of my country. You've gone well beyond that though. You have no desire to initiate any meaningful conversation about these problems. Instead, you find as much damning information you can on the US to validate your own prejudices. That's cool, it's your prerogative, but you're laying it on too thick. Now, it's just anti-American trolling.

    • @MB-UK I have no doubts many people would say they are deeply religious when asked in a poll here, but half the country is evangelical and attends Church every Sunday? Hah! Not a chance.
What you are doing is most certainly trolling. Two uploads in two days concerning the deeply religious in the US. You really like hammering home your point, eh? Take a look at all your uploads...it's embarrassingly focused on the US, and exclusively negative.

  • I agree, there are "primitive" people all around us but the most BARBARIC creatures are in our Big Cities.
There are SIMPLE people who are not suppose to be mixed with PRIMITIVE people. I like SIMPLE people, they are the children of God

  • Born agains are weird but England has some pretty backward ways too - the language of the Midlands, Scotland and Wales is weird beyond comprehension, the brutality of soccer mobs and the British approach to extreme Muslim immigrants seems foolish to most Americans.

So, yea, point, laugh, ha ha, but occasionally, you should look into a mirror, too.

    • @Nepean109 Wales and Scotland aren't part of England, but nice try with the Midlands but not a language, just an accent, we deal with extremists pretty well, we hold free speech dear in this country and can tolerate extremists, never got my head around wanting to beat the hell out of somebody beacuse they supported a different football team though

  • God how dumb can people be. Not the jesus-freaks, the people who don't get it. No JESUS won't literally feed that homeless family. But being accepted into the church and the incredibly inclusive and wide-spread social network that includes all kinds of employers WILL. THAT is what it is all about. Laugh all you want, evangelicals are some of the most absolutely tolerant, accepting, loyal, and helpful people you could possibly meet. The price is accepting their dogma. It is a steep one, bu More..

    • @ogritch No the people who fled jolly old England wanted to persecute others and weren't allowed too, so they went somewhere else to do it, all the rest of what you said I am prepared to agree with, if people wish to delude themselves whilst doing no harm to others, then thats fine, its when they try and tell me what to do I have a problem
