  • Taliban SHIPERS? That's an oxymoron. They spray bullets and pray to god that they hit sth. A sniper hits a beercan from 2000 feet and a human from 3000 feet with his 1st shot. A stinky goatherder has not near the skill to do that. Att those "sniper" vids in Iraq showing mule molesters hitting soldiers from 200-400 feet are not sniper vids. You could do that with ironsights with an old WW1 rifle...

  • Definately poor reaction on the part of the US soldiers, but I think the .50 cal single shot has to do with poor use of the weapon system, not maintenance. The gunner was just cranking out single shots for some unknown reason. Notice he never had to perform immediate action after a shot, he was just shooting single shot (until the end when you notice he locked her down and began shooting on auto). Regardless where the hell are the MK 19's, thats what you want in that terrain. As for the Natio More..

Ensuring that your joes are doing what they are suppossed to be doing and leaders enforcing the standards, leader doing proper PCC's/PCI's. Believe me there are shit bags across the board adn I have see shitty maintenace across the board."

  • A sniper doesn't necessarily always hit something. A true sniper does, but even spraying bullets from high ground will one day get you a result. I wouldn't want to be on the low ground no matter what...Just wish an apache was in the area....:)

  • fairplay666: "What use are the soldiers 5.56 in terrain like that - they are totally outgunned by people with "longs" in the hills. If it wasn't for their .50 they would have been picked off like flies. Bring back 7.62 or .303 - much better for that sort of warfare."
Situations like this are why God created napalm, actually. The Taliban would prolly burn nicely in those woolen cloaks.
