This is the type oppression muslims want to bring to the West under sharia law. As an intrinsic part of islam, muslim men must desire this for all women. Muslim women must oblige; they have no choice in the matter.

The women in the article below have had enough. They want equality or the freedom to leave for a place that will give them equality. Islam allows them neither.

And yet muslims, even some here at LiveLeak, will tell you all muslims are such by choice, islam 'respects' women, and there is no intolerance or bigotry in the 'religion.'

Is this "faith" truly worthy of our "respect" and "tolerance"?

Saudi Women Activists Campaign to Do Away with Male Guardians

Under the slogan "Treat Us Like Mature Citizens – Or Let Us Leave the Country," Saudi women activists, under the leadership of human rights activist Wajiha Al-Huwaider, said that their campaign is calling for eliminating the role of the male guardian (al-muharam) who must approve most actions taken or transactions conducted by women.

Al-Huwaider was recently denied the opportunity to leave the country to attend the graduation of a family member at a school in the U.S.

Al-Huwaider said that under the Guardian Law, the fate of the newly appointed Saudi female minister, Nora Al-Fa'iz, is in her husband's hands - and he could stop her from working if he chooses to do so.

A sick Saudi woman may not undergo surgery without the approval of her guardian; as a result, many women have died because of their guardians' stubbornness.
