Rebuilding cultural centers of war torn Shushi

This church in Shushi, Artsakh was damaged by the invading turks from Azerbaijan during the Nagorno-Karabakh War and later was used by them as an ammunition depot. After the turkish were driven out the church was restored. This can be considered as a failed attempt by the muslim turkish to erase a superior culture/history to replace it with theirs. Note that the biggest mosque in Constantinople used to be a Greek Orthodox church.
