Bill O’Reilly has a well-recognized soft spot for bizarre pop thingamajig Lady Gaga, having invited her onto the program before and even told her she could BYOB the event. Tonight, he went as far as to call the derivative American icon a “Patriot” for eating a cue card on David Letterman’s program.
Gaga got upset with Letterman for reading off the card, which had a list of outlandish rumors about the pop star. In response, Gaga simply… ate it. This defiant behavior appealed greatly to O’Reilly, who took some time to name her a Patriot. Today’s “Pinhead,” by the by, was Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, so the pickings were apparently slim on that front today.
This is clearly yet another attempt to court Gaga onto the program, perhaps to grill her on her use of religious imagery and her obstinant refusal to wear pants in what could possibly be the interview of the century. One can only hope Lady Gaga was watching.
