  • It was a staged media event. His right arm is extended pretty much as far as it'll still go because they didn't treat him initially until they found out how important his father was and hoped to use him for propoganda. It's likely he thought he wouldn't live to see his wife, this was when he was still severely injured, don't know if the torture had already started, likely not as much as when he partially recovered. Democrat or Republican, being at Hanoi Hilton and smaller regaional POW camps More..

  • Interesting to watch democrats opine on McCain's POW time, Democrats don't know the first thing about patriotism or military life, hell to them raising taxes is patriotic.

    • It isn't so. Obama was 8 years old when that idiot committed that crime. It was until many years later that they crossed paths on an education board. There were plenty of Republicans on that board as well but nobody questions their relationships with him.

Personally, I don't like the guy at all, but I think this "link" which is always unfounded has gotten blown out of proportion.

Let me guess, this country will turn communist and we'll have a bunch of terrorists running our gover More..

Oh yeah you can thank the French for dropping that war in the lap of the USA.
The French were smart, they knew any war was unwinable because the place is half jungle.

Hell at the end of the day arent all politicians the same anyway?
However irrespective of who the guy is now, he did serve his nation and put himself in harms way. Being a prisoner of the Nth Vietnamese would have been no laughing matter, a thing that nightmares are made of and probably still do!
It would be interesting to see how some of these people who s More..

  • Wow...I won't vote for JM...but I can't believe how people are bashing him here. How an anyone watch that video and not feel for the man. I am am independent who is voting for BO, but even I can say JM was/is a good man. His campaign is a disgrace, but he DOES DESERVE to be honored. Why can't the "left" and "right" agree to disagree instead of name calling, accusations of lack of patriotism and respect for our fine armed forces. More and more, I wonder what happened to John M More..

    • I agree with you a 99 percent, with the exception of the McCain campaign disgrace.. Would you have liked it if he sent the hate messages with a smile like Obama did? Look at Obamas words he never says he is going to change it, but it is that he is going to look into it!

  • He could have endured the torture like everyone else. I wonder if what he said to them got American servicemen killed. If nobody was killed as a result of McCain being a rat then it's o.k., but if fellow Americans died because of him, then I hope there is a hell.

  • Oh heres the referance to this video

I woke up a couple of times in the next three or four days. Plasma and blood were being put into me. I became fairly lucid. I was in a room which was not particularly small%u2014about 15 by 15 feet%u2014but it was filthy dirty and at a lower level, so that every time it rained, there'd be about a half inch to an inch of water on the floor. I was not washed once while I was in the hospital. I almost never saw a doctor or a nurse. Doctors came in a couple More..

  • Crying about his wife--"I love her!"--just before he dumped her for being disfigured in an auto accident while taking care of things while he was gone. Cindy musta seemed like a huge trophy.

Anyway, I'm as liberal as they come, but I've never disrespected the thiungs McCain did for his country; surviving a stay at the HH and coming out with your head up makes you a man and a patriot in my book...but it doesn't make you a president.

  • Finally, the Frenchman came in, a man named Chalais%u2014a Communist, as I found out later%u2014with two photographers. He asked me about my treatment and I told him it was satisfactory. "The Cat" and "Chihuahua," another interrogator, were in the background telling me to say that I was grateful for lenient and humane treatment. I refused, and when they pressed me, Chalais said, "I think what he told me is sufficient."

  • This is kind of funny I am reading this and the big thing that I got out of the ignorant statements is that he said too much... I am sure you studs would say nothing, come on wake up. I am sure in the good treatment that he received is still helping McCain walk today, let me quess he is faking the walk and the arms now too right. But Obama has done alot for this country Aires, Rev. Wright, Acorn. Lets say that McCain admitted to syaing everything at least he stood up to his actions under dure More..
