Stall - Spin Situation on Skydive Aircraft - 120MPH decent
Looks as if the guy with the stripes in right hand seat was calm about the situation and this was just a race back to earth to beat the skydivers...

its a weight and balance thing, the pilot need to slow the aircraft so that the jumpers can get into position.
At 2:50 there are now 3 jumpers hanging out the door.
that's almost 400LB outside the center of balance.
the pilot is also has to cross control in order to handle the drag caused by the and the body's handing out side the plane.
The tandom jumpers now move out into the slip stream and slow the aircraft even more.
The the stall starts.. I'm sure the stall.. it's no big deal..
He s More..

We used to do this in Bell 204's all the time. Except with them, the nose down angle is between 80 - 90 degrees and there needn't be forward momentum to keep air moving over the rotor.
In this case, both wings are clearly still 'flying'. What you don't want is 0 nose down attitude and rotation about the center of gravity. Thats a flat spin, and extremely difficult to break out of.

Great experience for the pilots.
I'll stick with rotorcraft.

Intentional spin depicted here. After the camera guy finally jumps he looks back at the plane and you can see all the controls turned into the spin to maintain it. The key one is the rudder, which we can't see directly, but we do see the steerable tailwheel turned to the right. The incident referenced at the end must have been some other flight.
As a kid in high school (the '70s) I took my 7AC Champ to 12700ft (no mixture control - lol) and spun it down to 2500ft. I was ... dizzy.

One of your first lessons is to enter a spin and then to recover. No big deal, apart from he left it spinning for long time. I don't know anything about sky diving but I don't think I would want to exit a spinning aircraft. I'm not sure if there would be a danger from the rear tail.

@updougdown wish your typed word had that silly little accent attached to it. Then it'd be fun to NOT read.

This looks intentional. I am both a pilot and skydiver. The view of the plane at 7:27 and after clearly shows the ailerons, rudder and elevator are being controlled to continue the aircraft spinning. This pilot should be grounded.

I thought it looked intentional too, or loss of rudder control. If intentional, why are they jumping during the spin?

First-a lot of pilots go into this spiral , BUT they wait until all the jumpers are out--this spiral dive allows them to get back on the ground faster so they can get more jumpers out.
Why they began the spiral with jumpers still on was stupid
Intentional spin
But aside from al that I did get a giggle out of the cripple freak jumping out
Me? I would have just shoved him out-
