"What I read was that a decision to go to war has been made against the position of the entire security echelon. We are approaching an abyss. This will be a crazed war. I can't predict the future and I don't know whether (Prime Minister) Netanyahu plans to attack or not, but if he says he is going to war I believe him. That's why I am here, because I'm concerned."


Olmert: No reason to attack Iran-
Olmert v. Netanyahu – Former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Sunday leveled harsh criticism at PM Benjamin Netanyahu and the government's handling of the Iranian nuclear issue, claiming that Israeli officials are busy "stirring up overblown drama."


During a meeting with students at Ono Academic College, Olmert said that "the current situation does not require Israeli military action – now or in the near future."



Revised gov't protocol gives PM Netanyahu unprecedented powers-

Ministers approve dramatic amendments to government protocol which enable Netanyahu to root out opposition to fateful decisions, delay implementation of approved decisions.

The move sparked widespread criticism among the opposition. Opposition chairman Shaul Mofaz said the plan further undermines the prime minister's decision making process. "We are facing critical decisions and the attempt to weaken opposition only increases concern over the lack of judgment in those decisions," he said.

Iran.


The demonstrators called out: "No to war" and "No to a strike in Iran" A man carrying a picture of Barak wearing Nazi uniform was forced to lower the sign and asked to leave by the other protesters. "We will not have swastikas here," the demonstrators exclaimed.


The man was later arrested by the police and interrogated on suspicion of incitement.

Tel Aviv City Councilwoman Tamar Zandberg (Meretz) said: "This is a civilian gathering. It shows that the media's incitement to war can also work in the opposite direction. I don't know what Benjamin Netanyahu thinks, but even if its starts with cynicism or an attempt to affect the United States, it can get out of control and get a life of its own. At some point, we will not be able to stop it."


Protester Shachar Cotani added: "It doesn’t matter if the threat is serious or not, it is an existential threat for all of us. It may mean the dismantling of democracy. It's important to come and protest against it."
