  • Imagine trying to introduce this here in England? The Human Rights brigade would kick up such a fuss and probably no canings would actually get carried out.

  • You're the ignorant prick! Nowhere in my post did I blame Muslims or anyone else, and yes I am fully aware that the British did introduce the cane to Singapore and Malaysia. Also, where did I say that I was opposed to caning? Again, I actually think it's justified in certain cases,so how about you getting your facts right before posting such rubbish in response!     yes, there was an american kid and i believe it happened in singapore more than a decade ago.

    in malaysia and most SE asian countries, those convicted for sexual abuse, robbery or minor drug offences are given strokes of rotan (caning) as punishment.

      You are correct, the american kid in singapore thought it would be a good idea to go out and tag some cars. Needless to say the police caught him and he was sentanced to be cained. The american goverment at the time threw a fit telling the singaporian goverment that they could not do it since he (the kid) was an american, singapores reply was... watch us. I bet that kids does not tag any more cars.

  • it looks cruel and it is cruel.. but imagine what that guy did. You can only get caned for crimes like rape and murder.So in malaysia/singapore, basically if you inflict pain, thats what your gonna get back. Its not so cruel once you think about it. If a person murders/rapes someone from your family, surely you wont be satisfied with only a jail sentence now would you?
