First Ever Footage of Canada's JTF2.

First ever public footage of the worlds most secretive Special Operations Force.

In his book Enduring the Freedom, Sean M. Maloney reported that
during operations in Afghanistan, Canada's JTF2 was the only foreign
unit accepted to join American Tier 1 special operations units, such as
1st SFOD-D (Delta Force) and DEVGRU in TASK FORCE 11 whose job it was to hunt high value Al-Qaeda and Taliban personnel and to conduct sensitive site exploitation.

The unit was believed to be operating with the SAS and SBS in Operation Mobile, the Canadian operation in the 2011 Libyan civil war.

I don't know about pathetic, they are serving their country honorably so I am loathe to describe them that way; but indeed way too slow disconnecting!

Had there been an armed resistance, in this case a 12 year old allah snackbar twit with an AK, they'd have been slaughtered.

Hopefully someone in their Chain of Command will see this video, be suitably embarrassed, and take corrective measures.

      Nice SAR helo though.

    • @just-a-wrong-un LMAO... You watch too many movies. It's not easy repelling from a helicopter onto a moving, wet ship. Although, I'm sure they could have gone Hollywood and do 20 takes.

  • Too bad they don't use them to clean out the filth in Toronto. Imagine that? Cleaning out your own hometown instead of dicking around in fuck all for politics in a shithole that REAL Canadians could care less about. Unleash these bad ass MEN in downtown so that REAL Canadians can live there again. Asshole bootlicking politicians.

  • They need to work on their descent: they would've been all shot by the time they got their ropes off had there been enemy waiting for them instead of Harper. That, and perhaps boots with a better grip ^^

  • said to be the best trained and most secret unit in the world. When I was enlisted to go to RMC and chose infantry my goal was to join JTF-2. Lofty goal but I would have liked to given it everything I had. Too bad... Asthma. |You can be a ntl champion athlete but not serve at all...

Ah, the old "I'd have been a badass but I've got asthma" line.

    • @jackal452 I was assigned to the Queens Own Camerons Highlanders, Accepted to Royal Military College, went through 5 interviews and the physical. Took 3 weeks to get a doctor to sign off on my knee because Id torn my MCL, took the note in and he flips to page 2, says Im disqualified, theres nothing he can do. I said Id retake and beat the strethocoline test, he said no dice. I had been playing mens premiership rugby since age 16, was captain of my high school football team, and I never used a More..

  • I wonder if there's anyone in the know who could shed light on why in this case they belayed instead of fast-roped? Seems to me that the operators had to spend a significant amount of time getting off of their ropes once they hit the deck.

By my count, from the time the first pair of boots hit the deck, it was 18 seconds before the first guy had his weapon up, and with njo apparent air cover either. Seems to me they were quite vulnerable for those 18 seconds, with nobody covering.

    I'm assumin More..

  • I wonder if the had any cover from a heli gunner while they were trying to get their ropes off. There was no cover on that deck.
